Jaime Marie Webb, lyric coloratura soprano, recently graduated with her Masters in Music where she served as the Resident Artist Soprano for the University of Georgia Opera Theatre and was a recipient of the Dr. Carl and Patricia S. Hoveland Fellowship in Opera. Webb made her debut with the department as Norina in Don Pasquale under the baton of Maestro Hilary Griffiths and was featured in UGA’s Bel Canto Gala, where Webb performed concert excerpts as Adina in L’elisir d’amore and other Donizetti scenes. In her second season for the university she had the honor of performing the titular role in Lucia di Lammermoor in a costumed, concert production performed in collaboration with the University of Georgia Symphony Orchestra and Hugh Hodgson Singers. Her final major role with the department was Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia under the direction of Nic Muni. 

This summer, Webb sang the role of Musetta in Puccini’s La bohème with the International Summer Festival of Morelia (ISOFOM) where she performed in masterclasses with Ailyn Pérez, Kristine Opolais, Danielle Orlando and studied privately with Jennifer Rowley. In the summer of 2019, Ms. Webb performed as a Young Artist at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival where she sang the role of Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen and studied with Jennifer McGregor. In the 2017-2018 season, Webb was both a Lieder and an Opera Studio Artist at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria where she performed in the Liederabend and in the Barbara Bonney masterclass. Additional operatic roles include Hanna Glawari in Die lustige Witwe, Casilda in The Gondoliers, and The First Spirit and Pamina (Cover) in Die Zauberflöte. An avid concert performer, she has also performed the song cycle, “I never saw another Butterfly” for composer Lori Laitman. She was also invited to perform the three commissioned works from the “Notorious RBG in Song” as a guest artist and masterclass teacher for the University of Richmond in their inaugural “Women in the Arts” initiative.
