Gavon Peck & Allison Freeman

Gavon Peck is a violist and teacher in the Baltimore-DC area. As a soloist, Gavon has given recent recitals at the Peabody Conservatory, a dynamic performance in Utah sponsored by the Utah State University Music Department, and multiple GroupMuse recitals, among others. As a chamber musician his performances have ranged from on-stage performances alongside international DJ KYGO, to the wedding of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brezinski, to classical programs with Baltimore Chamber Encounters. He served as principal violist of the Peabody Conductors Orchestra, as well as the Peabody Symphony, Chamber, and Modern Orchestras, under the batons of Marin Alsop, David Zinman, Joseph Young, and Michael Hersch, and he has been a guest with the York Symphony Orchestra. As a teacher, Gavon has taught private lessons since 2014 for beginning and college students alike, and he held many academic teaching assistantships during his collegiate studies. He has participated in festivals including Madeline Island, Napa Valley, Taconic Chamber Intensive, and Bowdoin International Music Festival. He was also a fellowship recipient at the 2018 Aspen Music Festival. Gavon received his Bachelor of Music degree from Utah State University under the tutelage of Bradley Ottesen and the Fry Street Quartet. He went on to receive a Master of Music and Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Conservatory studying with Victoria Chiang. He performs on a 2015 viola by Dan Salini with a 2017 bow by Michael Yeats.

A native of North Carolina, pianist Allison Freeman is equally established as a soloist and collaborator. She earned her Master’s degree at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University as a student of Boris Slutsky, and completed her undergraduate studies with Alvin Chow at Oberlin Conservatory.

Allison has performed at the Southeastern Piano Festival, Meadowmount School Of Music, Bowdoin International Music Festival, the Banff Centre, and Beijing International Music Festival, and has appeared as soloist with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra and the Oberlin Orchestra. While at Oberlin, Allison was a recipient of the Rudolf Serkin Prize, the Faustina Hurlbutt Prize, and the Pi Kappa Lambda Prize. 

Allison has served as a collaborative pianist for the Castleman Quartet Program and the Heifetz International Music Institute, and currently works as a collaborative pianist at the Peabody Conservatory.
